Officers trained in motor vehicle accident investigation receive additional training by POSTC certified instructors from the Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM). Investigations may range from multi-vehicle, truck vs. car and car vs. pedestrian collisions. Officers are trained to reconstruct accident scenes, determine speeds of the vehicles, direction of travel and other elements prior to collision.
